The Underrated Eyedropper in Google Slides

I cannot tell you how many times I have used this tool in Google Slides, remembering the exact colour code for our CloudShed pink.

In Google Slides, you'll be building a presentation, you’ve dropped in your company logo, and then you spend ten minutes trying to guess which shade of pink matches the brand. I then start searching my Google Keep notes for # hex colour code.

You might even settle for something close, but it might annoy you that it isn't an exact match. In Google Slides, you don't have to worry about this, as it has the Eyedropper tool, and it’s the fastest way to transform an off-pink slide deck to the CloudShed pink of dreams. Here is how you do it.

Step 1 - Select Your Object: Click on the text, shape, or border you want to recolour.

Step 2 - Open the Colour Menu: Click the Fill colour (paint bucket) or Text colour (the A) icon in the toolbar.

Color selection menu in Google Workspace, showing "Office Theme" and "Custom" palettes with various colors. Soft grey background.

Step 3 - Click the Eyedropper icon.

Step 4 - Pick Your Pixel: Hover your cursor over your logo (or any image on the slide) and click.

Boom. Your object is now perfectly colour-matched.
