Force Others to Make a Copy of Your Google Doc

When you share a document template with colleagues, you usually don't want them to edit your original file, so you can force them to make a copy of the document.
You can also upload your templates to the template gallery for others to use.
Step 1 - Copy the URL of your document from the address (URL) bar.
For example: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PQj29BxwszlSNBuqfjuo1MrskqJM_fbsW6OUdbCh2wQ/edit?tab=t.0

Step 2 - At the end of the URL, you will see / edit
Delete the edit and change it to / copy
Step 3 - Send that link. When they open it, Google Docs will prompt them to: 'Make a copy'.
It is as simple as that!
