Digging through Calendar menus and clicking three different buttons to see if you’re free next Thursday can be very time-consuming. Here are the Google Calendar shortcuts that will change the way you manage your time.

1. The secret Shift + ?

If you remember one shortcut, let it be this. Typing Shift + ? pulls up a shortcut cheat sheet of every shortcut available.

2. Instant creation with c and cal.new

The quickest way to create a new event.

  • Tap c

If you’re already in the Google Calendar app, pressing c instantly opens the event creation window.

  • The Browser Trick

You don't have to have Calendar open yet; type cal.new into your browser's address bar. It bypasses the loading screen and takes you straight to a fresh event invite.

3. Google Calendar time travel trick with t

When you’ve scrolled three months into the future to check a holiday date, you can sometimes get a bit lost in your own calendar. Don't scroll back manually. Just tap t. You’ll instantly teleport back to today’s date, a real timesaver.

4. Toggle your main Calendar view

Sometimes you need the granular detail of a single day, and other times, you need the bigger picture of the month. You can toggle these views instantly using your number keys:

  • 1: Day View

  • 2: Week View

  • 3: Month View

  • 4: Custom View

  • 5: Agenda View

  • 6: Year View

Try it right now: Open your calendar, press 3 to see your month, then press t to return home. Feels easier, doesn't it?
