While "Suggested Times" has existed for years (and has been one of our favourite features), in 2026, Gemini has upped this feature's game!
What is Smart Suggested Times?
Instead of just looking for a gap in your schedule, Gemini, within seconds, will check:
Availability, it scans the calendars of all invitees (provided you have access).
Time Zone friendly, it automatically picks a time that suits everyone's waking and working hours.
Working hours, as mentioned above, Gemini will follow the invitees 'working hours' and their 'Focus time' and avoid scheduling clashes with these.
How to Use It
Step 1 - Open Google Calendar on your web browser.
Step 2 - Click the "Create" button (as shown below) in the top left corner, or simply click directly on an empty spot in your calendar grid.

Step 3 - Start to create your event, give it a relevant title and add your guests (this is an important step so Gemini can check their calendars).

Step 4 - Once you've added your guests, look for the 'Suggested times' option. A dropdown will appear with best matches ranked by how well they fit everyone's preferences.

If none of the times suit you can click the 'More options', and it will suggest times that suit the majority of attendees.
