Google Meet has some great backgrounds you can use, from a home office space to a simple blur. Now, you can use Gemini AI to create a background for yourself, unlocking endless possibilities.

In the example below, we are adding an AI-generated background to simulate a co-working space.

Step 1 - In your Google Meet call, click the 3 dots menu and select 'Backgrounds and effects'.

Step 2 - To generate a background, click the pencil icon with the star, as shown below in light blue.

Step 3 - Write your prompt in the box. We simply want a coworking space, but we could ask for a home office with lots of plants or an outdoor scene.

Once you have completed your description, click the blue 'Create samples' button. This will allow Gemini to generate some options for you to choose from.

Step 4 - You can select your background from the samples and begin your meeting!
